We operate from the assumption that the purpose of a client's investment portfolio is to fund current and/or future financial objectives. The design of a portfolio will take into account the specific client objectives, risk tolerance, time frame, liquidity and income needs, as well as any other special consideration that may be unique to the client.

Before we recommend any specific investments, we consider the current economic conditions, the outlook for various asset classes, the specific client circumstances and determine an appropriate implementation strategy for the portfolio allocation. We believe in a "process-driven" portfolio strategy. A process driven portfolio is behavioral based. We believe in using strategies such as dollar cost averaging, asset allocation and portfolio rebalancing. We agree prior to investing the first dollar that the capital markets will be volatile....sometimes very volatile. We agree on the course of action prior to the good times and the less than good times. When we are faced with circumstances that could stir us emotionally, we have already determined our course of action. This will help us from making long-term mistakes based on short term emotions.

We manage portfolios on a "fee-only" basis. The fee schedule is based on the dollar amount of the assets and the overall complexity of the clients' needs. We utilize mutual funds, outside equity money managers and fixed income securities. We believe in the power of long-term equity investing and we will encourage our clients to adopt the same philosophy.
